Terms of Service

Taboo Party is an online multiplayer word-guessing game for entertainment, run by Ansh Raj Suryavanshi, an individual developer based in India (“we”, “us”). By using the website, the Discord Activity or the app you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

You agree to:

• Use Taboo Party lawfully and only for its intended purpose
• Not abuse, exploit, overload or disrupt the game or our servers
• Not cheat, hack, automate play or manipulate gameplay, scores or purchases

Chat, nicknames, team names and guesses are filtered automatically, and room hosts can remove players. If you break these rules we may remove your content, remove or ban you from rooms, or suspend or close your account. Unless the law or safety requires otherwise, we will tell you why and you can ask us to look at the decision again by replying to that message.

In a game, use the Report button next to a player in the player list or next to a chat message, pick a reason and add any details; the report reaches us with the room code. You can also email anshlaw505@gmail.com with the subject “Report”, the room code, the player’s name and what happened (a screenshot helps), or reach us on our Discord server. We act on reports of illegal content as quickly as the law requires, acknowledge other complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 7 days.

Anyone can play Taboo Party as a guest. Players who tell us they are under 13 get preset chat phrases and generated nicknames, and spectators can watch but not chat.

You must be at least 13 to create an account. When you create an account we ask for your birth month and year once on each device or browser. We do not keep the date you enter; we keep your age group, how we learned it and, for players under 18, the month you turn 18. If you entered the wrong date, contact us.

Players under 13 can keep playing as guests. They cannot create an account or buy anything.

You are responsible for activity on your account. Keep your Google or Discord sign-in secure, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile (Customize Profile, then Your data). This cannot be undone: your coins, items and any Plus time left are lost. A Plus subscription bought through Discord is billed by Discord, so cancel it in Discord.

From 13 May 2027, players in India may be asked their age before playing, and accounts for players in India under 18 will need verifiable consent from a parent or guardian.

You must be at least 18 to make a purchase, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission.

• TabooPlus passes (24 hours, 30 days or 365 days) give you Plus features for that time. Passes bought on our website do not renew automatically. Plus bought inside Discord is a Discord subscription: Discord bills and renews it, and you cancel it in Discord.
• Coins are an in-game currency for items and word packs. Coins have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money. You can send coins to a friend by username; a transfer cannot be undone.
• Items and word packs are licences to use digital content in Taboo Party, not ownership of it. We may change or retire items, but we will not take away an item you paid for without offering a replacement or a refund.
• Prices can change, but not for something you have already bought. Purchases made through Discord, the App Store or Google Play are also governed by their terms.

Tips are voluntary payments that support the development of Taboo Party, a commercial project. They are not charitable donations and are not tax-deductible. A tip can put your chosen name and amount on the supporter wall (or “Anonymous”), and tips can be refunded like any other purchase.

• Change of mind: you can withdraw from any purchase within 14 days of buying it. We refund unspent coins, items and word packs you have not used yet, the unused part of a TabooPlus pass (we deduct the days already used), and tips.
• Something went wrong: if a purchase was not delivered or does not work as described, we will fix it or refund it, whenever you tell us.
• Purchases by a child: if a child bought something without permission, a parent or guardian can ask us for a refund.
• How to ask: use Withdraw from contract or request a refund (it opens an email to anshlaw505@gmail.com) with your username or email and the order ID or UPI reference from your receipt. We reply within 48 hours and refund to the original payment method within 14 days of agreeing the refund. Refunded coins, items and Plus time are removed.
• Discord, App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded through those stores under their policies; we will help if you contact us.
• If you open a chargeback or payment dispute, we may pause the purchase until it is resolved. Please contact us first; it is usually faster.

Nothing in these Terms affects rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

• Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Stripe’s terms apply to the payment.
• UPI payments (India) are matched automatically with our bank’s payment notifications using the UPI reference you enter; if a payment cannot be matched, we check it by hand.

Businesses can book ad spaces on our advertise page. Every ad is reviewed before it goes live; we may reject an ad that is unlawful, misleading, unsuitable for a general audience (including children), or that tracks visitors. A booking we reject, or one paid after its reservation expired, is refunded automatically. Advertisers are responsible for their ad content and the site it links to.

We work to keep Taboo Party running, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or error-free. Game rooms are temporary and end when everyone leaves or after a server restart. If we ever close Taboo Party for good, we will give at least 30 days’ notice and refund unused TabooPlus time.

Taboo Party’s game, word lists, branding and design are owned by or licensed to us. Do not copy or redistribute them, or use our branding, without permission.

You keep the rights to what you create, such as custom word packs and ads. You give us permission to host and show it in Taboo Party for as long as it is there, and you confirm you have the right to share it.

Taboo Party is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for problems caused by third-party services such as Discord, Google or payment providers. If we are liable to you, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you live in another country, you also keep the protection of the consumer laws of that country, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new date, and tell you in the game before an important change affects you. If you do not agree to a change, you can stop using Taboo Party and ask for a refund of unused TabooPlus time.

We respect intellectual property rights and respond to notices of alleged infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). Our designated agent is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office as DMCA-1081501 (service provider: Ansh Raj Suryavanshi, TabooParty). The agent's contact details are listed in the Copyright Office DMCA Designated Agent Directory.

• Takedown notice: send it through our contact page with the subject "DMCA Notice". Include your signature, the work you claim is infringed, where the material is on our site, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and you are authorized to act for the owner.
• Counter-notice: if your content was removed by mistake, send a counter-notice through the same page with your signature, the removed material and its prior location, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake, and your consent to U.S. federal court jurisdiction.
• Repeat infringers: we terminate the accounts of users who are repeatedly found to infringe copyright.
